It is a fact: The Social Security trust funds are on a path to run out of money by 2034, leaving only new tax money to pay benefits for the rapidly growing number of retirees. The American population is simply aging too fast!  Official projections show the Social Security trust funds will run out of money entirely by 2034, at which point Social Security will only be able to pay out as much as it collects in payroll taxes.  Will Congress solve the problem?
