There was a time, not that long ago, when a home on the golf course was a can't miss proposition. Suddenly, however, courses are closing and the homes built around them are plummeting in value as younger generations are not playing golf like their parents and grandparents. More than 200 golf courses closed in 2017 and 2018, while only about 15 new ones opened, according to the National Golf Foundation, and many more closures are on the way. Its an example of how the unanticipated events of the future--things you can't see today--could affect the outcome of your investments.
