Ever wondered what formula the Fed studies in order to determine what they will do about interest rates at their next meetings?  It turns out they rely on a formula originated by a Swedish economist who died 90 years ago, called the "Natural Rate." Fed officials all agree on one thing--rates are probably stuck in low for quite a number of years ahead, and zero rates are not out of the question.
