The demand for annuities is strong despite the desperate attempts at unfounded criticism by promoters of front-loaded mutual funds-- like radio host Dave Ramsey, and elite TV billionaires like Ken Fisher-- who seem to think they are smarter than you! As we have said many times, Ramsey has done noble work helping younger middle earning Americans get out of debt. We applaud him. But his advice for retirees has been called into question by many in the financial industry. Every year, for the past ten years, an average of $200 billion dollars in annuities have been acquired. Memo to Dave Ramsey and Ken Fisher: SOMEBODY is buying them, and most of them are pretty darn SMART!!
